Situated in the very heart of the city on Stonegate, the Punchbowl is famous as York's most haunted pub. This is hardly surprising when you consider that a building has stood on this site for nearly 2000 years, with plenty of characters who still haunt the pub to this day, including one landlord who died in a mysterious fire in the 1930s that burned down a large portion of the pub.
