Covers | | With a powerful voice that belies her slender frame, Nic Fowler is arguably one of York's finest singers. She has the ability to entrance her audience with her renditions of contemporary and classic songs.
After being blown away by Nic's performance as a guest with Mike Newsham at a gig in York, Mark Bate (a dormant singer/songwriter from his days at Durham University who had worked with many acts and performed at countless student gigs) brought Nic into the rehearsal rooms to work on some cover songs and henceforth begin a collaborative partnership. Those who heard these early sessions were quivering with excitement at this raw talent being shown to the general public, and after a warm-up first gig at VJs on the 5th April, it was to Kennedy's, where Nic performed a sparkling set in front of packed out venue. Less than a week later, Nic wowed the crowd as warm up to the sensational The Supermodels, and thus, a star was born!
Nic is working with Mark Bate on some of his original compositions and is looking forward to a number of gigs this summer to become an established artist on the York music scene (and hopefully beyond), a scene which already has some amazing talent.
