Phil Simpson is an acoustic singer-songwriter originally from Blackpool. Now based in North Yorkshire he frequently plays around the area solo, and with his band 'The Acoustic Project'. Blending a mix of traditional folk music and original material, Phil's songs are 'beautifully melodic' and are written about experiences everyone can relate to.

Phil has been writing, performing and promoting music since the age of 16, and has a large repertoire and impressive gig history. From playing various festivals including Beverley Folk Festival & Coastival, to supporting Waterson:Carthy, Phil is a very honest and intricate performer and thoroughly enjoys being very busy and getting involved with all aspects of live music.

Phil also performs with rising Blackpool artist Steph Fraser. They are signed to Sonic Vista Recordings in Blackpool, and Jaded Rebel Entertainment in Canada. They travelled to Canada in March to showcase at the prestigious Canadian Music Week industry event and finished recording with producer Dan Achen (City & Colour, Feist) for their upcoming releases in 2009.
