On the 8th September 2006, an energetic guitarist (Jamie) and a nervous drummer (Jack) met at Mount Farm to practice covering the songs 'Seven Nation Army' and 'Smells Like Teen Spirit'. After a somewhat shaky start, the two boys began to enjoy the experience and decided that playing in a band would be an enjoyable hobby to pursue. Consequently, later that evening, Jamie and Jack thought of a name for the band - 'The Frigid Scrots'. Everything was looking good for the budding musicians but something(s) was/were missing...

Early November saw the introduction of the first missing ingredient - a bassist (William). This curly-haired Moses lookalike proved to be pretty useful with a bass guitar hanging from his neck - the band was thriving. Covers were flying in but The Frigid Scrots were hungry to make their own music. Jamie was rapidly improving, however, the band realised that it would be useful to add another guitarist to the three-some. Thankfully, he was staring us right in the face...

Robert joined the band after the Christmas period in early January and with the addition of this talented guitarist, the band was almost complete. Cover songs were proving too easy and consequently The Frigid Scrots began writing their own material. However, thankfully, The Frigid Scrots decided that the band was not being taken seriously due to their title so changed the name to THRIVE. 'Nicotine' and 'Money and Fame' were the band's first couple of songs but without a singer, the hits almost sounded bland. Jamie, Jack, William and Robert searched high and low for a potential singer and eventually realised that his curly locks were bouncing up and down in front of them the whole time. William became the singer and with this, the songs came to life. 'Potential to Succeed', 'Marmite Memories' and 'Going Nowhere' were added to the list of singles and now the sky is the limit for Thrive...
