Recently I have just finished a stint as bass player for the now disbanded Colour of Fire. Previous to this I joined the band on guitar techin duties for a tour of Europe and was given the chance to do solo suppots in the likes of France,Germany,Holland and Switzerland.. Over the last few months i was lucky enough to spend a few months on tour with Guillemots looking after there backline gear..Missin my guitar (a thing which nearly broke me!), I somehow managed to end up playin keybords for one song in the set for 2 weeks!Which was a treat because the wonderful Joan As Polisewoman also played violin on the tune! So i've been playin solo shows for about 3 years now and have played venues up and down the country and doing local supports for the likes of Jesse Malin,The Sam Roberts Band,The Yards,Laura Veirs,Martin Grech,Mohair,Peter Rowan,Gina Villalobos,Keane (cough cough),Four Day Hombre,Cardboard Radio,John Power,Eileen Rose and blah blah blah I also play with Boss Caine (helll yeeaaah!!) where i generally play either drums or mandolin..sometimes both.....at the same time! | | Click here to be notified for upcoming gigs for Mike Newsham | | |
