We are four people in college from York in England in the World. We make music and play it to people who come and see us at gigs. We make our music because we are inspired to make it by bands such as Placebo, Smashing Pumpkins and People in planes. We like these bands. Our Drummer is called Jamie, he is nice. Our singer and guitarist is called Ben, he is quite nice. Our good guitarist is called Sam, he is very nice indeed. Our bassist is called Thomas, he is the nicest. We play gigs around the North of England and we sometimes play at partys because we like our friends.

Supporting Third Conduct. Third Conduct - All girl (sisters!) pop punk three piece Third Conduct take the stage to raise a bit of money for charity. It ain't Girlschool or L7, more Hedrons meets Hissyfits, and this is really accomplished stuff well beyond their tender years. And for the first time they join forces with good friends and rising stars The Nicoles as well as new act Redgate. And it's all for charidee (The Candlelighters, fighting children's cancer) so give it your support! Win win all round, we say. £4 OTD. £3 With Flyer.  Add Review

From the Evening press"It wasn't until The Nicoles made an appearance that the room really got busy - whether due to a loyal fan-base or a sudden influx of latecomers. The stage was now obscured by a tightly crammed group of supporters. The band gave a well-polished opening, demonstrating faultless control of their instruments throughout and producing a truly anthemic sound.Motivating the audience, their final song was met with a spectacularly riotous response, and one was left with the conviction that this York quartet deserves some attention." - Ian - Ian

First time seeing this york based 4 piece and what a pleasure ! Hard to put them into any kind of bucket but theres a lot of the cure and the doves going on here. Their myspace tracks sound professional and slick, and their live set reinforces this - a top performance , and what a following! Haven't seen such a crowd for a support act for many years! This band have a great deal going for them - youth, tight & polished songs, a unique sound and dedicated following . Keep an eye out for them! And I can't finish without giving the drummer a special mention - had a very heated discussion with my illustrious colleague / chaperone about whether the nicoles were using a drum machine or not (they weren't. Bugger - that cost me 50p). Well all I can say is if yamaha need to calibrate their new drum machine to check it can keep time give this guy a call! - yorknights

Great voice. Spookily like Tracey Chapman. All songs sounded weirdly familiar (in a good way!) - Rach

The Nicoles were on top form on the 18th as usual. Fibbers was packed and everyone was well up for it. The Nicoles only came on stage at 10 15 but were well up their set. they opened with a new song which was brill and paced on through their set. As the set got to about half way through The Nicoles began to play their best songs. Another new song played was AMBULANCE which again is a fantastically powerful/fast song. Their next new song was the emotional PLANS about one of Ben's (the front mans) plans apparently... It was the stand out song of the night for me... Well done Nicoles. The mosh pit came into full swing when the nicoles played their last two songs of the evening... SHAKING MY CELL and XBOX AND FOOD. Go and see this band, they are brilliant to watch and nice guys who will usually come and say hi after their set!! James. - James Lindley

Another great set from The nicoles, with new and old songs. Highlights of the night included two new songs "ambulance" and "plans". Ambulance was the stand out song for me, powerful with a great pace and shows that this young band are always improving. By the end of the set, the moshpit was really moving as the crowd were treated to two favourites, XBOX nd FOOD, and SHAKING MY CELL. An awesome night all round!!- charlotte kitchman - charley Kitchman

The Nicoles were on really late whcih was a bit annoying, but it was well worth the wait. They came on strong with loads of fans still in the venue, their short unnamed set opener was a wiked tune. Followed by the anthemic Put Your Lights ON that got everyone in Fibbers screaming the lyrics.. I usually dont like this type of music but The Nicoles are doing a wiked job at the mo and continue to make wiked tunes, VERYY Good band. Jeremy - Jeremy

I've always been a huge fan of the Nicoles and they did not dissapoint me tonight. Full of adrenaline after playing a set of my own i thoroughly enjoyed theirs, maybe even more so than my own, highlights being the epic, saddening yet uplifting '5 miles' and fan-favourite singalong 'xbox and food'. This is a very tight band whose style reminds me slightly of Placebo but is quite unlike anything I've ever heard. reccomended methinks! - Pete Wise
